Our Summer 2024 Star Teacher winner is Emma.
Emma won with this lovely nomination:
Emma is a standout teacher, and absolutely deserves this accolade. She has an incredible way with all of the children, and adapts her style seamlessly to work with their unique needs and challenges; she does all of this in a very inclusive way so that everyone feels involved and no-one feels pressured. She is outrageously patient, kind and despite the long day in the pool on a Saturday, she still has a sense of humour at 4pm. Impressive. Emma is also ALWAYS on time; for parents of small children this really is so important and can be the difference between a fun afternoon and a total meltdown. So thank you for this, Emma! Without doubt Emma is the reason we continue swimming with Puddle Ducks; she is a joy to be around and our daughter absolutely adores her.
Our judge Dominique from Wiggly T said
"What a wonderful group of teachers you have. It was so lovely to read through so many positive experiences it brings back some lovely memories of swimming together with my own 2. I could easily have chosen more than 10 which really touched a chord|"
Wiggly T is a fantastic charity which we have been supporting through Charity Pyjama Week last October and our Swimathon recently.
Wiggly T make and gift specially designed T shirts and baby vests for children in treatment for cancer. These are called a Wiggly T. A Wiggly T is a t-shirt with snap poppers from neck to armpit allowing you to open up the front panel so that you can access the chest without having to take it off. The snaps mean that the child’s wigglies (plastic tubes connected to the child's central line) can
poke through the gaps for meds and blood draws and the T-shirt can be easily taken off without going over the child’s head. Having the central line accessed (via a needle to the chest) can be a very traumatic element of treatment for many children. Wiggly T’s give greater control to the child by enabling them to keep their tops of for this process.
